Building envelope testing

Service

Building Envelope Engineering

Risk focused investigation, standards based testing, and implementation support for enclosure systems in new and existing buildings.

Service Scope

Focused on the building envelope, our services range from investigation and assessment of existing buildings to envelope design support for new construction. We assess windows, curtainwalls, skylights, and insulated cladding systems, and we are often part of the commissioning team during construction.

Common Failure Patterns

  • Water leakage at facade transitions, glazing interfaces, and roofs
  • Air leakage causing comfort, condensation, and operating-cost issues
  • Excessive cracking and progressive material deterioration
  • Condensation risk and excessive heat loss through enclosure systems

Investigation Toolbox

  • Water spray racks for controlled penetration testing
  • Blower door fans for quantitative air leakage measurement
  • Moisture meters and membrane pull testers
  • Infrared thermography for concealed performance anomalies

Methods and Standards

We provide air and water leakage testing to ASTM and AAMA standards, supported by infrared thermography and targeted intrusive review where required.

Outcomes and Deliverables

After the investigation phase, we provide design documents, tendering support, and field review of remedial work so corrective scope can be procured, implemented, and verified with confidence.
